UT Southern
Nestled in Pulaski, just 70 miles south of Nashville, UT Southern offers small class sizes and big opportunities. UT Martin
Located in rural northwest Tennessee, UT Martin serves 7,500 students through its main campus in Martin and six regional centers in Jackson, Parsons, Selmer, Ripley, Somerville and Springfield. At UT Martin, students experience a personal, supportive environment and graduate equipped to make a difference in their communities.

Cost of Attendance
Each campus in the University of Tennessee system has a unique cost of attendance and tuition.
UT Knoxville
For in-state students tuition costs $13,812. Out-of-state students have a tuition cost of $33,256.
UT Chattanooga
For in-state students tuition costs $10,448. Out-of-state students have a tuition cost of $18,512.
UT Southern
At UT Southern, there are no out-of-state fees. Tuition for all students is at a cost of $10,924.
UT Martin
For in-state students tuition costs $5,412 Out-of-state students have a tuition cost of $8,432.
Admission Requirements
Each campus in the University of Tennessee system sets individual criteria on admission.
UT Knoxville
In order to gain guaranteed admission, students must score a 24+ ACT composite (SAT 1160+) with both a 19+ Math ACT subscore (510+ SAT Math) AND19+ English ACT subscore (500+ SAT (ER + W)) AND
Achieve one of the following:
- Earn a 4.0+ UT Core GPA
- Be among the Top 10% of their high school graduating class
UT Chattanooga
- 2.85 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum 18 ACT composite (960 SAT composite) or
- Minimum 2.5 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a 21 ACT composite (1060 SAT composite) minimum
- 3.2 GPA or higher or finish in the top 10% of high school graduating class AND a 23 or higher ACT composite score.
- All freshmen under 21 years of age must graduate with a regular diploma from an accredited or state approved high school or complete a GED.
UT Southern
- A student must have a composite score of 17 or above on the American College Test (ACT) or a 920 SAT (ERW+M) and a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- A student must meet a composite score of 18 or above on the ACT or 960 SAT (ERW+M) and a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Any student’s file not meeting regular admission requirements can appeal.
UT Martin
First-year students applying for admission to UT Martin can meet one of the following high school GPA and ACT/SAT combinations:
- 3.0 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum 19 ACT score/900 SAT score or
- 2.7 high school GPA (on a 4.0 scale) and a minimum 21 ACT score/980 SAT score

Everywhere You Look, UT Campaign
The newest mural, painted by muralist Michael Cooper, marks county number 49 of the “Everywhere You Look, UT” campaign. This campaign aims to paint a mural in each of Tennessee’s 95 counties by 2030. Since its launch in 2018, the campaign has created 53 total murals across the state. The University covers the cost of the first mural in each county.
Springfest… and ALL other FESTS!
Delta State and Cleveland are not shy to have a festival to bring people together to bring food, fun, and activity. Some include Octoberfest, Italian Fest, Otherfest, and Crosstie Arts Festival.
Pig Pickin’
This annual event is a highlight of each and every fall semester. It is known for its party, cooking competition, prep rally, and football game. Pig Pickin’ is the best time to visit DSU.
