Tuition & Fees
At MVSU, in-state and out-of-state students receive the same tuition rate.

Mississippi Valley State University
Admissions & Acceptance
In order to attend classes at Mississippi Valley State University, students must gain official admission to the University and must complete the enrollment process, which includes advisement, registration, and payment of tuition and fees. In order to gain acceptance, students must meet one of the following conditions:
Option 1
Complete the CPC with a minimum of 3.20 high school GPA on the CPC.
Option 2
Complete the CPC with a minimum of 2.50 high school GPA on the CPC or a class ranking in the top 50% of the class, and an ACT score of 16 or higher.
Option 3
Complete the CPC with a minimum of 2.00 high school GPA on the CPC and an ACT score of 18 or higher.
Option 4
Satisfy the NCAA Division I standard for student-athletes who are “full qualifiers” are accepted as equivalent to the admission standard.
In the lieu of ACT scores, students may submit equivalent SAT scores. Students scoring below 16 on the ACT (composite) or the equivalent SAT are encouraged to participate in the Year-Long Academic Support Program during their freshman
year.

Department of Education
Through the coordination of the Mississippi Department of Education, the Education Department oversees the secondary B.S. degree programs in Health Physical Education and Recreation, Science Education, Mathematics Education, Vocal Keyboard and Instrumental Music Education, English Education, and Social Science Education. The Secondary Health, Physical Education, and Recreation Program offers two-degree options.
Department of business administration
The Department of Business Administration offers three bachelor’s degree programs and a master’s degree program. Our dedicated full-time faculty excel in the classroom and engage in a broad range of research. We are here to help shape and guide the minds of our students. We are proud of our programs and continuously strive to improve them to keep our graduates competitive in the job market.
Department of Social Work
The Department of Social Work is committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching and the promotion of accountable and ethical social work practice. The Department is dedicated to preparing students for entry-level social work positions and for graduate school. It also endeavors to provide technical support to community agencies and continuing education for professional social workers in the community.
Department of Criminal justice
The Department of Criminal Justice started as a program in 1974 and has since grown to become one of the largest departments in Mississippi Valley State University (MVSU). The department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in criminal justice. The department has a diverse faculty educated in reputable universities from across the nation, and around the world.

MVSU keeps campus life interesting by offering students a range of activities to choose from.
Mean Green Marching Machine
Since its founding, the band has held an important place in the life of the university and throughout the state. It has provided music for athletic events, pep rallies, and special university functions.
Intramural Sports
The Intramural Sports Program at Mississippi Valley State University offers students, faculty, and staff an exciting opportunity to engage in sports activities, whether on a competitive or recreational level.
The Office of Leadership & Student Engagement
The Office of Student Leadership and Engagement serves as the major programming agency for student life, and as a resource outlet for student organizations. Student organizations play a key role in programming activities for students.
