Delta State University
Delta State University (DSU) is a 4-year public institution whose nearly 2,700 students come from across the US and over 35 countries. Acknowledging its beginnings as a teacher university, the University sustains excellence in teacher education while continuing to expand in other academic subject areas.
Cost of Attendance
DSU is a very affordable local institution.
At a full time tuition cost of $4,217.50 and a part time cost of $351 Delta State offers a quality education at an affordable price. Additional fees are not apart of tuition and can affect the overall cost of attendance. However DSU provides a cost of attendance that students can use to determine what a full year at Delta State University costs.
Admission Requirements
Freshmen who apply to Delta State University must submit:
A completed DSU application with a $25 application fee.
Unofficial high school transcript.
Dual credit students must submit an official college transcript.
Test Score and GPA
Option 1: Complete high school or the CPC with a 3.2 GPA.
Option 2: Complete high school or the CPC with a 2.5 GPA or a top 50% class ranking, and an ACT score of 16 or SAT equivalent.
Option 3: Complete high school or the CPC with a 2.0 GPA and an ACT score of 18 or SAT equivalent.
Option 4: Satisfy the NCAA Division 1 standard for student-athletes who are “full qualifiers” are accepted as equivalent to the admission standard.
Financial Aid

Delta State University offers a free tuition scholarship to support Mississippi students. This scholarship will cover 100% of your tuition in you’re a Pell eligible, first time freshman entering Fall 2025. Click the heading to learn more.

Federal Supplemental educational opportunity grants (FSEog)
FSEOG grants are awarded to students with exceptional financial need. FSEOG awards for Delta State University usually range from $100-$600 per year. These grants do not have to be repaid.

Pig Pickin’
This annual event is a highlight of each and every fall semester. It is known for its party, cooking competition, prep rally, and football game. Pig Pickin’ is the best time to visit DSU.
