Student Testimonials

Being at the ETSU counseling center was an experience that I am very grateful for. I had an opportunity to gain a lot of quality experience in the field and really focus on what I needed as a clinician. I gained a lot of great relationships with the staff and other interns that really made me feel like I was in a family environment. The work that I did with students was an awesome experience and I had the chance to do group work, individual work, and get a lot of the tools I can use in my current job.
Ryan Woodzell
As an Intern at the Counseling Center, I was guided and encouraged to follow my professional interests while learning indispensable counseling skills. Being a new intern and counselor-in-training is daunting and demanding, but my supervisor and the other professional counselors were able to provide support while also pushing me to learn new skills.
Lindsey Campbell
What an amazing experience interning with the Counseling Center was for me and key to my success as a clinician! I felt like all the staff counselors cared about our education through constant supervision and intern seminar. I also think that I got a lot out of the independence that I got. I was able to really see how having a case load of my own felt, and had to learn to juggle it with the required paperwork. I also think that being able to speak to different counselors with different frameworks really helped me find my own flow as a therapist.
